USCIS Extended the Temporary Rule for Medical Examination Reports

USCIS Extended the Temporary Rule for Medical Examination Reports

People who are applying for Green Card (I-485) within the US must submit Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (Form I-693).  Normally, USCIS considers a completed Form I-693 to retain its evidentiary value for 2 years after the date the civil surgeon signed, as long as the date of the civil surgeon’s signature is no more than 60-day before filing form I-485. This is called the 60-day rule. Due to the COVID-19-related processing delays and difficulties experienced by the applicants, USCIS announced a temporary waiver of the 60-day rule effective December 9, 2021, until September 30, 2022. Recently, USCIS extended this temporary waiver through March 31, 2023.
