Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (also known as the green card lottery) makes available 50,000 diversity visas (DV) annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This program is designed as a tool to maintain diversity in the U.S.
Every year, the online entry registration period for the DV Lottery programs start at the beginning of October and ends in early November. Applications are submitted only electronically. Please visit the Department of State’s website for more information as to submission of electronic application and eligibility requirements.
