The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that the initial registration period for the FY 2026 H-1B cap will open at noon Eastern Time on March 7, 2025, and close at noon Eastern Time on March 24, 2025, with an employment start date of October 1, 2025. Employers should review the immigration status of current and potential foreign national employees to determine who may benefit from H-1B status. This cycle is subject to a congressionally mandated cap of 65,000 visas, which includes 6,800 H-1B1 visas for nationals of Chile and Singapore and an additional 20,000 visas reserved for individuals holding a master’s or higher degree from a U.S. institution.
