An Employment Authorization Document (EAD) is a document that allows individuals in various immigration categories to work legally in the United States and can be used to prove eligibility to employers. USCIS temporarily extends the automatic extension period for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for up to 540 days while the EAD renewal application is pending, due to long processing times. This change is in effect until October 26, 2023, after which USCIS will revert to 180-day extensions. AILA has created a flyer to help clients understand the temporary extension period. You can access the flyer about USCIS’s temporary extension period for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) through this link to know more about which categories are eligible: Flyer-EAD_Extension-Mar2023.pdf (aila.org)
